　　an opening flower,

　　a town at night,

　　the song of the blackbird,
) p; T. O' t5 I! e3 J　　优美的诗行，
/ m/ D! F9 I) B/ {+ t$ ?; \& v) \　　a lovely poem,
% ?* d" Z8 _# u8 N　　可爱的诗人
　　leaf shadows,

　　孩童的烂漫，
　　the starry skies,

　　春天的果树，

　　山上的羊铃声，
　　a rippling stream,
　　一道潺潺流水，

　　一只蝴蝶 ，
　　the crescent moon,
　　这个新月，

1 J0 {% o  p8 a" [+ Y　　that evoke in us the thought of beauty —
8 t7 l6 N0 s0 B- X　　这些使我们潜生美感的万千景象，音籁和词句
　　these are the drops of rain
　　that keep the human spirit from death by drought.
　　仿佛雨露般滋润着我们干涸的心田。
$ s  O- u4 D1 x: Z0 I7 E　　They are a stealing and silent refreshment
( Q6 I5 b+ \& ]" \/ O4 l　　它们悄然而来
　　that we perhaps do not think about,
　　在我们不经意中荡涤尘寰

　　绵延不断
; w' Q: w* _3 ?  E　　Beauty is the smile on the earth’s face,
+ \2 ~( g, [; ~6 K　　美是大地的笑容，
　　open to all, and needs but the eyes to see,
　　the mood to understand.
