　　If I know my angels，

　　In a whisky-blue dream
　　In midtown Manhattan.
　　He wasn't angry anymore.
　　He seemed happy to find
　　Me again， my old self.
　　Picking up his ghost guitar，
　　He played me a new song.
6 ~! i2 u  i. A) W! x3 G5 c2 \　　He played it sweet and innocent.
　　As if he were the world's only child，
　　His whole future ahead，
　　No pain hidden in that past.
# K% o0 O. v1 }3 k　　In some undeserved way， I felt
  \: J: |5 N1 `9 @* Z, d　　As though he had forgiven me
　　For the hurtfulness of my words.
; f& N0 o  _! h) h# D: q　　His kindness to me was more
$ U5 @# n$ |$ s3 ^( i% m8 V* E  M　　Genuine than all of my love could
$ ?, j" x# {; m5 @　　Ever have been toward him.

　　In search of something greater.
　　But each time I was returned
　　To wander out my sin in prayer——
