  And tremble and despoil themselves: oh hear!

  If I were a swift cloud to fly with thee;! |. ~: ]" \1 e+ F
  A wave to pant beneath thy power, and share+ B$ E( Q; w8 o: u9 S) X
  The impulse of thy strength, only less free
& R  `) a) Y3 \/ ?  Than thou, O uncontrollable! If even) {' \% u) t5 A
  I were as in my boyhood, and could be
& w3 K9 G5 T" B7 h/ @  The comrade of thy wanderings over Heaven,
8 [  ?" d  C! X! g6 A) v" W  As then, when to outstrip thy skiey speed8 E, r+ Q* h& N& p
  Scarce seem'd a vision; I would ne'er have striven( o$ T, H, r5 p( w) f2 E- D
  As thus with thee in prayer in my sore need.
& f2 t% o, U& ^" c, a' ^  Oh, lift me as a wave, a leaf, a cloud!

  Make me thy lyre, even as the forest is:

/ a2 p# Y" X/ |  The tumult of thy mighty harmonies

  Sweet though in sadness. Be thou, Spirit fierce,* Q+ C0 b" L0 r, r4 a0 F4 V
  My spirit! Be thou me, impetuous one!
( Y, O+ E/ Z8 l: O  R. z6 t* Z, v% R  Drive my dead thoughts over the universe* q1 e8 ]" V1 D
  Like wither'd leaves to quicken a new birth!. R& F3 z' c) X  w

  Scatter, as from an unextinguish'd hearth
7 H. ^/ j- r; N0 \8 L- V  Ashes and sparks, my words among mankind!' w, y  e0 s1 K; D7 t) G  ^, I) F
  Be through my lips to unawaken'd earth9 d5 q; q1 p3 {! ~+ n
  The trumpet of a prophecy! Oh Wind,! K# l2 o& \9 B' U$ B
